Case Study: Helping a web developer win new business
Web development firm Design Industries had been invited to quote on developing a new intranet for a major national organisation. This was a wonderful opportunity for Design Industries, and they were an ideal fit for the design and development aspects of the project.
However, the client was also after a complete overhaul of the site's nightmarish information architecture, and a roadmap for progressively improving its content. Design Industries had worked with Weave Web before, and knew we were content strategy experts. They successfully quoted for the project with Weave handling the content component.
We began by conducting research to identify the most important tasks for users. We developed an overhauled, streamlined information architecture (reducing seven levels of content to just four).
In the next phase of the project, we'll be overseeing a pilot project to develop a section of brand new, templated content, as a demonstration of how useful, well-written content can improve the knowledge and efficiency of staff.
